For two people who don’t like sports, it’s probably surprising that Kelly and Liam met at a sports bar in New York’s West Village. (But it probably means there weren’t any distractions from their instant attraction!) They were drawn to one another right away and got engaged less a year-and-a-half later. Kelly and Liam spent their summers in a shared beach house in Montauk, but one weekend Liam convinced everyone else to stay back in NYC so they could have the house to themselves—and so he could propose! That very weekend, the couple headed to Gurney’s Resort and Seawater Spa for celebratory piña coladas, and ended up reserving the venue for their wedding before they’d finished their drinks. They embraced the nautical setting, but mixed in an autumnal off-season vibe to embrace the time of year they love most on Long Island. Photographer Heather Waraksa captured the oceanfront celebration, which definitely proves that beach weddings don’t have to happen in the summer! As seen on Brides.
